Child Care Programs at Creative Learning Academy

Creative Learning Academy offers many benefits to children of ages six weeks to six years. With our seasoned and nurturing staff, your child will receive the best possible care while also being provided developmentally appropriate activities throughout each and every day. We know that every family’s child care needs are different, so we offer flexible enrollment options to assist in meeting those needs. We also understand that choosing a child care center for your child is a very important decision and one in which you need to be comfortable. Therefore, we offer free facility tours which can be scheduled or you can feel to stop by at your convenience.

Do you provide curriculum based activities?

The teachers at Creative Learning Academy create lesson plans and provide activities based on the Creative Curriculum®. The Creative Curriculum® is based on 38 objectives for development and learning that are predictive of school success and aligned with NJ state early learning standards. The activities are both child-led as well as teacher-led. Child-led means that as children are participating in Centers, teachers are expanding on their play by asking open-ended questions and encouraging more complex concepts. When activities are teacher-led children are being provided planned activities focused on the 38 objectives in subject areas such as math, science, reading, writing and art as well as well as language, social/emotional, cognitive and physical development. Children are also provided ample opportunities to build their gross motor skills by enjoying the outdoors on our on-site playgrounds or our Village, an indoor gross motor area used during inclement weather.

How do you break up the age groups in your childcare programs?

Our classrooms are based children’s ages as well developmental progression.

· Infant Classroom – Children from 6 weeks to approx. 13 months old
· Waddler Classroom- 13 months to 18 months
· Toddlers Classroom– 18 months to 2-1/2 years of age
· Preschool Classroom– 2 ½ to 3 years of age
· Pre-K 3 Classroom – 3 to 4 years of age
· Pre-K 4 Classroom- 4 to 5 years

How can I be sure it is safe for your staff to care for my child?

All of our staff members are thoroughly vetted and it is our Center’s priority to ensure that they are a perfect fit for us, and more importantly, your child. Our teachers are passionate not only about teaching children, but also about creating an environment where children will feel loved and nurtured. It is that passion that makes that goal easy to obtain and the reason our teachers go above and beyond for each child. Creative Learning Academy has built a reputation on our family oriented atmosphere as well as our educational standards and we maintain this by only hiring quality teachers. Security of the Center is also maintained with 24/7 video surveillance not only outside the building, but also in each classroom.

Is weekend care available?

We are not open on the weekends, as our hours of operation are 6:30 am-6:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We are available to take care of children if their school is on a seasonal break to help you keep them on a routine and have a safe space to go while you are at work.

Will you prepare my child for transitioning into an elementary school classroom?

Our child care program is designed with your child in mind. We know the infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and pre-kindergarteners in our child care program will transition to a full-time classroom setting eventually. We not only work to jumpstart their educational career, but we also want them to be the best they can be once they are there! By creating and implementing activities focused on developmental goals, children are prepared both cognitively as well as socially & emotionally, to transition into an elementary classroom setting.

Do you provide meals at the Center?

Although we do not provide breakfast or lunch at our facility, we do provide healthy snacks twice a day for children 13 months and above. Parents are able to send additional snacks to be served as well. We know that mornings can be short for time, so if you would like to pack a breakfast, we are more than happy to serve it to your child here at the Center. Each classroom is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave in order to store and prepare your child’s meals, including lunch.

Can I tour the facility before signing up?

Absolutely! We encourage you to reach out to us so that we can set this up for you. We even have a virtual tour on our website to assist if you can’t make it in during our hours. That trip takes you through our entire facility, room by room, allowing you to discover every inch of Creative Learning Academy.
